Where is Endymion House located?

Endymion House is located near Keswick, in the heart of the Lake District National Park. There are a number of walks from the door of the house without needing to get in a car and there are two lakes (Bassenthwaite and Derwentwater) within an easy 10 minute drive. 

Is Endymion House dog friendly?

Yes, Endymion House welcomes up to 2 dogs. The property has a large, fully fenced garden and a dedicated outdoor dog shower.

Is there parking at the property?

Yes, there is private parking for 5 cars.

What facilities does the house have?

The house includes a living room and snug (both with wood-burning stoves), dining room, kitchen with Aga, and utility room, plus a separate games room/study, an outdoor terrace with dining for 12, a wood-fired outdoor stove, a Big Green Egg BBQ, WiFi throughout, and Smart TVs with Sky and Netflix. There are 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. 

Is Endymion House suitable for a large family gathering or celebration?

Yes. With 6 bedrooms sleeping up to 12 people, large gardens, and a dining terrace for 12, Endymion House is ideal for family get-togethers and special occasions.

What is the history and architecture of the house?

Built in the 1930s, Endymion House is a detached Art Deco property known locally as "Poirot House" for its distinctive 1930s architecture. The house has been lovingly restored by its current owners, including replacing all the original Crittall windows and using a mix of period and contemporary furniture. 

How far is Endymion House from Keswick, the nearest train station, and the motorway?

Endymion House is a 7 minute drive from Keswick town centre. The nearest train station is at Penrith, approximately 20 minutes away, and the nearest motorway access is Junction 40 of the M6, also around 20 minutes away.

Has Endymion House won any awards or been featured anywhere?

Endymion House has been twice featured in Cumbria Life and national newspapers and is recognised as one of Sawday's Special Places to Stay". It was winner of Crittall House of the Year in 2022.
